Story Space
Introduction
As a lifelong lover of books, I’ve always believed in the transformative power of reading. Growing up, I taught myself how to read, eagerly devouring stories, with my favorites being "Tom Tom et Nana " “ Martine” “Chair de Poule” These books not only sparked my imagination but also shaped my understanding of the world around me.

Now, as a member of the Brooklyn community and a school business owner, I've noticed a significant gap in access to French literature for young children. Many families share my passion for French language and culture, but finding quality French books can be a challenge. Shipping books from abroad is often difficult and expensive, leaving parents frustrated and searching for resources.

This inspired me to open the reading room, a dedicated space filled with over 500 French books generously offered by my mother and donated by our community. My goal is to provide a welcoming environment where families can easily access French educational tools and foster a love for reading in their little ones. I believe that by creating this space, we can enrich our community and make the joys of French literature accessible to everyone.
Book Loss & Return Policy
At FFLO, we strive to maintain a valuable collection of books for our community. In the event that a parent loses a book or does not return it, we have established the following policy:
-
Lost Books: If a book is reported lost, the parent will be responsible for the replacement cost of the book. We will provide the parent with the title and estimated value of the book for reimbursement.
-
Unreturned Books: If a book is not returned within the designated rental period, we will reach out to the parent to remind them of the outstanding book. If the book remains unreturned after a reasonable period, the parent will also be responsible for the replacement cost.
-
Replacement Costs: The replacement cost will be determined based on the book’s market value at the time of loss or unreturned status, which may include shipping costs if applicable.
-
Communication: We encourage open communication. If a parent is experiencing difficulties in returning a book or if a book has been accidentally lost, we ask that they contact us as soon as possible to discuss the situation.
